About Us

Where does this program come from?

Arts For Seniors is a product of the Earl of March Believe Leadership Course. It was created by Aleesha Katary and Yi Rui (Ally) Guo. This program reduced seniors' loneliness and isolation through monthly virtual concerts, while providing volunteer opportunities to high school students during the pandemic.

Aleesha Katary

Aleesha is one of the co-founders of Arts For Seniors and started this project with Ally in October 2020.

Aleesha is a Management Engineering student at the University of Waterloo. In her free time, she works part-time as a supply organist in Waterloo and Ottawa.

Ally Guo

Ally is one of the co-founders of Arts For Seniors. She started this project with Aleesha in October of 2020.

She plays the violin. In her free time, she loves running and creating art. She is also a huge anime fan.
